The Russian matryoshka is a Russian wooden toy in the form of a painted doll, within which there are smaller dolls similar to it. The number of pupae created is usually three or more. They are almost always egg-shaped with a flat bottom and consist of two parts - top and bottom. Traditionally, the woman is depicted wearing a red pinafore skirt and a yellow scarf. The themes for painting can be very different: from fairytale characters to politicians. The exact history of the matryoshka's origin is unknown. The most credible assumption is that the Russian master depicted Slavic characters or concepts from legends. There is an assumption that the matryoshka comes from Japan.
