Russian icon "Sviataya Troiza" yellow colored wood double embossing Size: 30x40 cm Condition: New. The icon is inaugurated by the head of the temple Reverend Serafima Sarowski in the town of Sofrino.

The basis of the icon is the Old Testament theme “the hospitality of Avraam”, set out in the eighteenth chapter of the biblical book of existence. He tells about how progenitor Avraam, the progenitor of the chosen people, met three mysterious wanderers (in the next chapter they were called the angels) near the oak forest Mambre. During the meal in the house of Avraam he was given a prayer about the future miraculous birth of his son Isaac. According to the will of God, Avraam should happen "the people will be great and strong" in which "... all the peoples of the earth will be blessed". Then two angels went to погубление Sodom — the city, прогневившего the God from the numerous evil deeds of its inhabitants, and one remained with Avraam and conversed with him.

In different epochs this subject received different explanations, however already in IX-X centuries the prevailing point of view was according to which the apparition of Avraam three angels symbolically opened the way of the unilateral and three-postass god - Saint Troitsy.
