The veneration of this miraculous icon increased at the beginning of the 20th century. century. The cholera epidemic began during the First World War. The nuns of the monastery, in order to support themselves at this difficult time, went to work on the construction of a road to Jericho and from there brought the cholera to the monastery. The disease quickly began to spread, the sisters dying one by one. Then, with all their hope pinned on the Tsarina Heavenly, they began with fervent prayer to read the Akafist in front of her icon. After reading the twelfth Akafist, from the icon the words about the pardon of the monastery and the interruption of the illness were heard. Since that time, the custom in the monastery has been to read 12 Akafist shortly before the holiday of the Kazan Icon of the Mother of God.

On this icon the capsule with the particle of the earth from Gefsimani is built. The icon is consecrated by the Holy Bogojawlensky water from the Jordan River.

The icon is in the gift cardboard packaging with the panorama of Jerusalem. The dimensions together with the frame: the height approx. 155 mm, the width approx. 133 mm, the thickness approx. 22 mm. At the rear end of the icon there is the metal loop for attaching the icon to the wall.
