The very beautiful and strong icon of the Bethlehem Mother of God, gold-colored and silver-colored double embossing, in a wooden frame, under the protective glass.


The icon was brought to Bethlehem by the Patriarch of Jerusalem Chrissanfom about 1700 from Kappadocii. The icon is located in Bethlehem, in Roshdestva Christowa, next to the stairs leading to the Cave of Christmas. After local lending, embroidered with pearls and silver, the phelonium of the icon was made from the dress sacrificed by the Russian Empress Alexandra Fedorovnoj. The icon was glorified by many miracles. So in 1927 the lamp in front of the icon of the beginning began to swing strongly from side to side, which was a warning of the approaching trouble - the great earthquake. Not only Christians, but also Muslims, who also know about its miraculous power, seek help from the icon. The icon's holiday is August 15/28.

On this icon the capsule with the particle of the earth from Gefsimani is built. The icon is consecrated by the Holy Bogojawlensky water from the Jordan River.

The icon is in the gift cardboard packaging with the panorama of Jerusalem. The dimensions together with the frame: the height approx. 155 mm, the width approx. 133 mm, the thickness approx. 22 mm. At the rear end of the icon there is the metal loop for attaching the icon to the wall.
