The Bismarck chain is gold plated. Can you tell me the actual time it takes for the gold plating to wear off if there is also a cross on the chain? Thank you!
This is a fairly thick galvanic factory gold plating, many manufacturers provide a guarantee of up to 10 years.Of course, it is better not to wear any pendants, otherwise faster wear may occur.
Again, it depends on the weight of the cross and how it will run along the chain.
One of my friends has been wearing a cross on a similar chain for about 2 years, and everything is fine.
But of course it’s better not to do this, at your own peril and risk.
